Default What size headers do I get?

I'm looking at some LG longtubes for my 01' Z. I cruize it on the streets and will track it here pretty soon. I'm gonna keep the titanium in the back.
Do I get 1-3/4" tubes or 1-7/8?
Whats the differnece? The sound? The hp?
I don't plan on heavy mods, just intake/exhaust as far as the motor goes.

Thanks guys!

1-3/4 seems to be the common recommendation for street cars with stock lower ends.

1 7/8 will give more up top. 1 3/4 will be better down low. IMO.

Tested and proven search in perf section, who else swap to 1 7/8 headers from 1 3/4, gained all accross rpm....and even more uptop.... 1 7/8.....right of the bat modded or not...1 7/8 with 3x3 catted Xpipe.

In my car the 1 7/8 ARH, 3" X, no cats, made the most gain above 4500 or so, held all the way to 6800. After hi flo cats added, it seemed to pick up a bit of lower end torque by the SOTP meter. works perfect for me with 3.90 gear.

I run the LG streets + hi-flow cats on my 02Z.They connect to the stock exhaust....it's a great upgrade.Got mine from JW Motoring.

You'll be pleased with the extra power & sound.

Stay away from SW headers, thier X-pipe sucks, thier slip on header sucks, X-pipe is in million pieces.

For same money as SW, you can get AR 1 7/8 catted 3x3" X pipe.....AR hands down period.

I have installed Sofar SW, AR, kooks, Tpis, XS power, .....AR hands down...period (ficinsh, fit and quality).

Price between 1 3/4 and 1 7/8......50-75 bucks not much, so go get 1 7/8 and be done with it.

Thanks for the feedback sami85L98! Slip fit connection has proven to be leak free and make great horsepower due to less resistance. Any feedback is appreciated, good or bad.

Street car with mild bolt ons, go the 1-3/4" route as this will yield better overall performance and provide a broad torque curve for instant throttle response. Choose the 1-7/8" when upgrading heads, cam & intake combos.
