Wow those 8w switchbacks look great...im assuming they will need the hyperflash harness as well?

That is correct. I don't think the Cree bulbs will need the harness, but I have yet to verify this.

What would be the effect with the clear housings? I really like the look of no color on my corners. Right now I'm running straight clear LED bulbs. (No LEO issues so far)

The effect would be the same with clear housings except the bulb would be more visible. The ribbed lens of the prototype breaks up and diffuses the light.

I offer the modification and the bulbs. They use the factory twist-lock base so bulb installation is no more difficult than normal. You can purchase both the modification (requires either you sending in your corner lights or purchasing a new set from me) and the Cree LED bulbs here:
