For me, it was like choosing a beautiful brunette or a beautiful blonde when it came to the CCW SP500s or the 505As. They are excellent wheels and easy to maintain. They also demand a nice resale return as well if you decide to trade/sell you car.
OP - John @ CCW can offer you a variety of finishes based on the style you choose so there may be some options out their on resales as well. The knock offs may come close to the look you want, but you may be able to find a slightly used set for a slightly higher price.
I bought CCW's at a time when several aftermarket wheels for the C5 were starting to show up in the market. There were several posts here and elsewhere showing catastrophic failure of inexpensive cast reproductions and other aftermarket wheels. I went for the forged billet CCW 505A. I just wasn't willing to take the chance on a cast wheel of questionable quality. Even the later cast stock wheels from GM have been shown to crack here on this forum. Do a search and you'll find lots of C5 owners posting pics of cracked stock cast wheels. I believe that you do truly get what you pay for - I always wait until I can afford what I believe to be a high quality product before purchasing, especially when it comes to a luxury like wheels for my Vette.
For those complaining about the high upkeep of a raw, polished AL wheel, I'm sure CCW can have them chromed. Personally, I prefer the raw, polished look over chrome so, I'm willing to put forthe the extra effort.
Ahhh.. I drool over CCW's. One day I'll spend money on a nice set of wheels. The SP500's are amazing
The only other wheel that looks somewhat similar by design is the DD C5 wheels from OEwheels. If you don't want to dish out the cash for the CCW's then pick those up, they actually look really clean for what they are.

You are talking Over $4000 for wheels and tires. Big bucks. Compared to around $1500 for the replicas and same tires. I understand their lighter and better, but there has to be a better option than $4000 for a set.

...or much nicer, rotary forged, lighter rims like Forgestar or TSW, for not much more than replicas.

good option for those not looking to spend too much. I know you've had those at least 3 years now.
I don't believe they tried to knock off CCW they just wanted to produce a dished C5 wheel. I don't know 100% as that was before my time in the business.
Reproduction wheels have come far in terms of quality. Are you going to get a $4k wheel? No way. You'll get a nice $700-$800 wheel that will last as long as you care for them.
Really want the CCW's. Due to cost have been considering the DD C5 wheels for a fraction of the cost. I figure if I dump my current Michelin run flats the total wheel weight will be similar with those anyway when going a non run flat (have paid too much in performance mods to lose anything...). However one other factor is the width of the C5 DD keeps you from running the widest tire that will fit without flaring or tubbing. Something that I really want. The CCW allows you to do that.
CCWs are only worth the money if your tracking your car and need to save every lb possible. For the street, knockoffs are just fine. if CCW was smart they would make a lower quality street version of their wheels. I'd pay a little extra VS knockoffs for them.
I can't justify $4000 for a set of wheens for my C5Z since its a DD.
