Default Tracking my 2000 vert?

After following most of the members posts who track their cars, I would like to give it a try.

I don't have high expectations since I have just a few engine mods but am looking to have some fun.

CIA, 85mm throttle body, short tube headers, Mantic ER2 clutch (all new clutch hydraulics), x pipe and cat back system and a tune.

Can one enjoy this on street tires; Hankook EVO. 19,500 on the oddometer

I think I have noticed cars that are track using much higher aspect ratios (e.g. 70 series??). What does this allow one to accomplish?

Thank you

Not sure why they would want the higher aspect ratios? The lower ones will flex less and improve the handling. Street tires will work fine for a good while. It will be the most fun you have ever had in your car. Make sure to upgrade your brake fluid and if you have ceramic pads, repl them with some metallic ones at least. You might want to look into one of these if you persue this much:

Good luck and have fun

The thing that is going to cause you a problem is roll over protection with a Vert. Every organization that I run with requires a proper roll bar assembly on convertable cars. Check out the regulations at the track and specific group that you want to run with.

I agree w/CHJ - most groups running HPDE events will require a roll bar to run a vert. Check exactly what is acceptable in terms of material & installation specs before you buy.

Thank you for all of the comments. Looks like $1700.00 just for the track bars not including better tires.

Will have to think this over for awhile.
