Bought mine from Gene. Great price and tightens up the turns. Repainted mine Le Mans (Luxo) Blue. Gene is ffast shipment, too.

I have an 04 and there is no problem, simple bolt on upgrade. What a difference. The 04 had the same metal end links as Gene sells.

Only place there might be a rub issue is on the cradle just outboard of the bushing mounts. The cradle steps out right there and when I switched to the C6 Z51 sways, mine rubbed. I had my bars powder coated Torch Red. When I inspected them to regrease the bushing a few months after I installed them, the cradle wore through the powdercoat on the sway. So I made spacers to step the bushing off the cradle so it wouldn't rub anymore. I also removed the casting burrs on the cradle in those areas. others have reported it but I don't think many people bother to look and see if they rub also. You have to remove the bushings to inspect the backside of the sway to see. Either way, a spacer is an easy fix so go for it. Also, I have a 97'. My rear cradle might be a tad different than later years being mine has the EBCM mounted to the back of it. When they moved that module to the front cradle, the rear cradle changed a little.

I have not heard of this problem, at all. It does not mean it doesn't exist, but I have not heard of it in all my time of selling these sway bars. I did hear of some issues with people installing the poly bushings we used to sell with the kit backwards, but that is the only thing I can think of. We only sell the kit with the OEM bushings now.

I installed the C6 Z51 sways on my 2001 C5, and I swear that the car sits about an inch higher than it did before. I did not change the shocks as I have the F45 shocks with only 16,000 miles on them. Will upgrade to C6 Z06 shocks when they wear out. I noticed it right away in the gap above the tires. Anyone else seen this? Will it settle back down to normal ride height over time.?

Thanks,

Phil

(I can't imagine how changing sway bars would increase ride height. They are thicker, but hang in the same osition and use the same end links...

So if I read this right, my '04 already has the metal end links, so I won't have to spend another $100 to replace something the car already has?

Unless they are damaged, you would not have to replace the metal end links you alrerady have.

Phil
When I get ready to order the parts, I'll get under the car and look at everything. Thanks for the information.

According to Gene's link, the difference between the C6Z51 and C6Z06 sway bars is the rear bar diameter; 25.4mm vs 28.0mm. Is the Z06 bar considered too large/stiff for the balance? I have a C5Z06 and am pretty much set on the C6Z06 shocks. Just wondering about the C6Z06 vs C6Z51 sway bars. Good info everyone...thanks!
