so heres the coils mounted on the inside of the battery copartment on the passenger side....
and here are the coils mounted to the outside of the frame on the drivers side....looking through the wheel well

I always thought Corvettes weren't supposed to look like they had a real engine in them. That's why they covered them up with plastic crap.

OP, maybe a stupid question, but no concerns about mounting the coils on the frame that low to the ground?- thinking dirt and moisture...

no because that inner fender panel not only closes up behind the wheel, but forms a floor so that the coils arent exposed to the ground. When I reinstalled it, I used some 3M foam tape around the perimeter to help seal it up on the bottom. I drove the car through multiple rain storms on the Hot Rod Power Tour with no significant moisture in that area. I also used dielectric grease on all the boots and connections to help keep moisture out.
