Is a Catch Can always needed?

I live about an hour from Scoggin Dickey Performance Parts so I took a little trip down there and bought a 2004 LS6 style valley cover, and a Mike Norris catch can for my 1999 FRC. Even with the updated 2004 valley cover, the catch can still caught a good amount of oil, and now my FAST stays clean 
as cheap as they are (and how easily reversible they are if you don't like it for some odd reason) I would tell your friend to give it a shot.
