I have a mayhem 2 in my FRC, I used Englandgreen to do my work and they installed their complete cam kit along with full exhaust and I upgraded to an ls6 intake, the car made just under 420 at the wheels with stock ls1 heads and drove like a dream, you definitely knew a cam was in there but not any bad manners at all, like everyone says it all in the tune, my intention when I went this route was to install a blower in the future, which is being done as we speak, so it's a good choice if your planning to do more in the future, which we all do.
that's good power for ls1 heads. My only concern was that it wouldn't make power until the upper rpm range which may hurt the car red light to red light. I drive the car just a couple times a week around town, so I wanted some low end torque but I think from what everyone is saying that this cam covers a pretty wide range of rpm's and like you said it's a good blower cam for later on
Lots of people are anti-big cam. However, if it meets your wants and is tuned correctly then there is nothing wrong with it. Call England Green...they are great people that area willing to answer any question(s) from a cam swap to a all out build. I have personally talked to them and they are good people that are completely willing to help and answer your questions.
Yeah I called and talked to them and they said the same thing. It's very streetable with a good tune and its proven time and time again that this cam makes good power at a wide range of rpm's but really from 4000 and up it where it shines. The good thing is I can put gears in it to help the low end and it will fly in the high end. Also like someone stated its a good blower cam for future mods..I'm sold on it
