Hi everyone!

What kind of offset and backspacing is everyone running?

I have 2 inch rear flares (TPE-Style) and 1 inch front flares coming from CorvetteCreations.

I want to start figuring out my wheel situation. I think I need to run 19 inch rims minimum because of the C7Z brakes.

I’m sad CCW doesn’t make the SP550 anymore. Lol

I am about to sell my CCW SP500’s that are 18x10” and 19x12” that I had on my widebody. They were the perfect offset. Only catch is that with the bbk you added you would need to run a spacer. Not a biggie if you are getting or have the front wide body fenders too.

I just bought a c5 and purchased a bunch of stuff for it and one of those parts was a set of these rear panels Although before i paint and install i will be making and glassing in some vents like on the c6 GS.

I also ordered carbon fiber ground effects like i see on some of the pics posted in here along with all new blacked out lights and just had the windows tinted last weekend.

vette is a 98 manual with 45k miles on it in silver

I have backed myself into a need front wide body fenders rather than want…. I went down the rabbit hole of adding CCBs from a C6 ZR1 and to clear the front caliper I ended up with an aggressive offset that in the end still wasn’t enough so a 1/2 spacer had to be added. Now I have a cartoonish amount of front poke and have to either scrap the brake mods or add fronts which obviously means I have to do the rear as well

im still on the fence as what to do. Can you or anyone else that has non fabricated/altered front flares post up some good pics

TIA

I wish I was still in Texas so I could test fit the fronts on these brakes.

If you have a buddy with a C7 Z06 or Grand Sport, do you think you can throw a front wheel on his to see if it'll clear? I was told 19s are necessary for the front. I was just talking to CCW yesterday and they don't make the SP series anymore. I'm definitely interested in yours if they'll fit.

You should take a look at C7 Z06 or C7 Grand Sport iron brakes. You need to get C7 knuckles as well so they will fit, but they should stop a C5 wonderfully. Our cars are like 500+ lbs lighter than the C7 Z06. 14 inch front rotors and 13.4 inch rear rotors instead of the 15.5 inch fronts/15 inch rears on the C6 ZR1 CCBs.

If I was going to bail from this I’d either put the stock brakes back on or go to a C6 Z06 setup

maybe I’ll just buy a C6 Z07/ZR1 and have spares on hand

if I had a run of the mill Z06 I wouldn’t blink an eye to tear it apart with aftermarket body panels but my car is a very low mile example and I’m not sure it’s the car to do that to

hoping to see some decent pics of wide fronts

I believe that is a yes. Think there is one at the shop now hopefully.

Yeah done that. I had to reshape the front flare and go 50mm wider as the Lewis 5's wouldn't cover my wheels, the rears have also been made much wider to fit the 345's under the back.

This is a great flared fender thread! I have done lots of mod's to my car over the years but I regret this is one mod I never got to....It is definitely one of the more pricier ones when you consider the cost of the flare panels, the needed customized body work for them come out really good, and the cost of any possible wheel changes.

Did you read Rumba's thread on installing the C6 ZR1 brakes on his car? https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-inquiry.html

I'm going the poorboy wide tire route. Don't really want to mess with widebody rear fenders again so I'm seriously considering the idea of going with a 19x11 rear wheel with +65 offset. If my measurements are correct, I should be able to fit a 325/30/19 tire under the car, without poke.

+65mm should be almost perfectly flush. My rears are +55mm with a 325mm tire, and the sidewalls poke, The tread of the tire is still under the panel, but just the shoulder of the tire is visible outside the wheel well. You can see it in these pics.

The problem is the backspacing of your wheels, not the offset. You shouldn't need any more clearance for those wheels than for C6 Z06 brakes. Both have larger calipers than most aftermarket BBKs. I was able to fit 19x10s on the front with 275s without any poke. I did end up having a problem in the back with poke for 19x11, though. I ended up needing a 1" flare in the back for that.

Wayne, changing offset changes backspacing. Trying to find a wheel to fit those large Brembo calipers is gonna be tough, and expensive.

Exactly this. Both "offset" and "backspacing" are measurements made to the exact same wheel, measuring the exact same fitment inside the wheel well. Just simply different methods of measuring the fitment.
