Go for it! Had mine done 3 weeks ago and love it. But, due to curvature of rear glass, be sure to have a reputable installer do it that is willing to take time to get it right. Has to be heat shrunk and mine took about 5 hours.

yea,
Makes it cooler inside, cuts, glare, helps stop carpet fading, and harder on window shopping

Three things about Florida that I love include:

1.) No front plate
2.) Window tint is legal (to a certain limit)
3.) No vehicle registration window stickers

- just check your local laws on what is legal in terms of the tint percentage. Also, check references on the shop that may do the tint work - see if they have done any C5s and ask for the customer contact info. The back glass area on a coupe can be a challenge if you have that body style.

Do it. I had my side windows tinted darker. It's a lot nicer and the cops can't see me not wearing my seat belt. (when the top's up) I don't condone not wearing a seat belt, so don't flame on me. It's usually on when freeway driving.

with black interior, you ain't got to go as dark as other cars to get the same outside effect & it lets you see better at night.

i bought my truck with 5% all around & in pitch black, i have to open the windows to see. when i did my car (with black interior), i got 5% back / 15% sides, and it looks the same however i can still see much better

Most of the tint shops know the Florida law when it comes to auto window tinting. Most of the tint shops around here, have been around for many years. Mine is a "limo" tint...very dark, just like the Police have.

Kalifornia.....so no tint allowed on "front" windows.......so that only leaves the hatchback window, which I have tinted pretty dark.

I think it looks good, but it does restrict view to the back somewhat, I think if I did it again I wouldn't go quite as dark.

First thing I did, and ironically the only car I have ever tinted. Beware of the black dots at the top of the hatch

They do, doesn't mean they do it right. Wife got the windows tinted on her Benz, receipt said "conforms to Florida Statute". Gets pulled over for a rolling stop violation and gets an additional citation for illegal tint. Go to shop that did it, out of business. Got to a new shop, yep, it's too dark.

x2, the dot area on my Z06 is delaminating. Gotta get it redone.

FYI.
A buddy of mine had his Z06 done a few weeks ago and the tinter stopped the tint at the dots and then put black vinyl the last few inches. looks great. ask your tinter about doing this.

I've heard of doing that as well as adhering the tint over the dots from the outside.

Thanks for all of the input. I am pretty new to the forum and this is my first Vette...I will definitely do my homework to get a qualified installer that has done Vette's.

Okay, based upon this picture, guess how I feel about tinting....go ahead....try to guess

But I did stop at "legal" for Oregon. These guys tinted over the dot matrix and instructed me to rub on it a few times afterward with a cloth and work out bubbles. It worked and looks great. So no issue here with the dots.

I'm glad I did it.
