I am asking $20K for my 2000 FRC with $20,000 in mods. Yeah, it's not for everyone, but I am certainly in no rush to dump it either. My 2000 FRC gets more looks and "thumbs up" than my 2013 Z! Not to mention, it is faster and more aggressive sounding. It just commands attention, unlike the Z.
First of all, I do not want to sell my car, but if I did, it would be for $28,000. which is about what I have in it, and it is a 2002 C5 coupe with 63k miles. Only add on is an aftermarket cat back exhaust, new hp clutch and a A&A s/c. making 530.8 rwhp.
Sometimes you have to sell a vehicle for less than you have in it, but I would not, as long as I am healthy enough to still drive it.
C5's are desirable and even more so the FRC Z06 body style which pull a bit of a premium. Some guys looking to buy come on here saying "WELL ITS A OLD BODY STYLE BLAH BLAH BLAH, WHY ARE THEY CLOSE IN PRICE TO THE C6's IF NOT MORE?" Most Corvette owners look at vettes not as the "The Old Body Style" but more as a generation. Some people and owners like the C5 body style more then the C6 and soon to hit C7. Some guys like the C4's more and C3's and so on and so on. So that kind of dictates the market, Yea they are going to take a little hit just like any car when a newer gen hits but they tend to float around up and down. I myself feel the C5 FRC body style is one of the cleanest and best looking body styles Corvette has ever produced. Look at the Viper guys with the 2nd Gens!!!.. I will go and say that the mileage and prices you had up top were pretty crazy. But You can expect to pay 23-28K for a lower mileage C5Z and 16-22K sometimes more for a clean low mileage base C5. KBB Lists 2005-2007 C6's at around 28-32K and 2008's at around 30-35K while they lists 01-04 Z's from 27-33K. "These are 30Kmi and lower cars though".... It all comes down to what you are willing to pay and the seller is willing to sell for...
Also I personally will never purchase a car with more then 30K miles myself!!!! So these guys saying you can buy a Z06 for 15-18K, Yea you probably can but you are not getting no spring chicken thats for sure lol, Your getting a car that was driven HARD with probably 100+K miles... You want a clean low mileage car, Your gonna pay no if ands butts about it.
Its always a good feeling to know that ppl place a high value on our cars. Kinda like 4th generation Supras. They stopped making them in 98 but they still draw around $20k for a decent turbo model with 100,000 miles on the clock.
Realizing that we all have our own financial situations and spending ability, I still always thought it strange that most guys ( women too, perhaps) want the feel, look and thrill of a Vette but want to pay very little for it used. It should be remembered that most Vettes were well taken care of, garaged, oil changed frequently, detailed, loved and pampered. You get what you pay for. No two Vettes are the same.
Just my 0.02

I agree 100% Everyone wants to purchase a Corvette at Fbody Prices
I'll admit it I bought a 04 drop top 7,000 miles alot of mods cam heads headers and look good goodies I gave $29 K for it and dont regret it beautiful well taken care of car. And runs good too
I just purchased a 2001 convertible with 31044 miles on it for $23k. The previous owner kept the car garaged all of these years and is practically flawless. I've seen quite a few C5 Verts recently for $17k to $20k with 80,000+ miles that were not very well kept. I may have slightly over paid, but comparing the condition of this car compared to what is out there, I say the extra $$ was worth it.
in Dec. i bought 2001 coupe, after market exhaust and air filter set up (not sure what kind or specs because i bought it from a dealer and he didn't know) 6speed. 46,500 miles. real good condition. tires are good. only two issues it has a cassette player and the drivers seat is a little broken in (i have read on the forum that the seats in this model do start to go after a while) paid $18,500. seemed like a good deal to me

The car looks clean. I just bought my car last May , looks identical with 18,500 miles for $22,500. I don't think you over paid. Clean corvettes are hard to find.
After buying mine last August, I kept my eye on the market because a few said I should have waited for the C6 prices to fall. So far, C5 prices have been pretty much holding flat around here. C6 has dropped a little, maybe $1K, but not much and later model C4 prices have been either flat or, can you believe the really low mileage LT1-s have actually gone up just a little. Certainly have not seen the big drop that some predicted, anticipating the market would be flooded with the announcement of the C-7.

I see a lot of comments about people who don't drive their cars much. It's people like that who enable us to buy a pristine 12 year old 'Vette with 31K miles for $23!
