Now don't forget to lube the hinge assembly... If you have issues with console well I am thinking you will with the trunk not popping up high enough to get fingers under to lift. Same solution, lube the lock assembly and voila...it pops up high enough to get yer claw under. Greetings, Rob
Some one here on the forum sells a spring that mounts on one of the latch screws to assist the trunk up when opened. I simply bought a 2 inch spring at Lowes and dipped it in liquid rubber and mounted it, the trunk now opens about a full nch or more. Do a search on trunk popper.
Another way to raise the trunk lid if the lift shocks are weak. I pop the trunk and then close the driver door and the inrush of air raises it several inches to allow easy opening. Been too lazy to replace the lift shocks yet.
OK...here's a dreaded question that I'm sure has been asked. How do you change out the front signal lights on the C5?? Looks like there's a bunch of cowling that needs to come off if i go from underneath the car. Anyone care to take a stab at this one??
Had my C5 and it took about two months and reading this forum to realize how to open it all the way. Open it until it binds. Then pull the lids towards the driver seat and then up and it will open fully.

I'm surprised more people don't break the hinges not knowing how to open the lid. Read the manual.
Once I got the lower air dam off, it was just "all feel" at that point, but the job was a success and the bulb changed. Technology is great, but my 67 and 69 were much easier to work on....especially when it came to changing a simple bulb. Thanks for the info....I'm sure I'll be back from time to time.
