If GM did not want the car to be jacked up on the fram rails why did they put the cut outs there in the first place. to me it looks safer to put jacks there to store it for the winter, do the fact that I do start it up at least once a wk. the two cross members in mho does not look to safe WITH THE JACKS SO CLOSE TOGETHER, to be climbing in and out of it. JUST MY OPINION. AND YOU WILL HAVE YOURS.

I think those cut-outs were used as tiedown points for shipping. I'm sure someone will inform me if I'm wrong, please be gentle! LOL!

I always use the #3 positions for the jack stands, seems safe and simple.

I have lifted mine many times using the locations identified as #3 in the diagram above. I have also used locations 1 and 2 to lift the car.

Mine are sitting on #3 right now for the next 8 months until I can get back to the states. Everytime I go overseas that is where the jacks go and I havent had a problem yet. Other than people messing up and not hitting the correct spot has anyone ever had a problem?
