You have access to a dyno - so how about some dyno comparisons as well as the 1/4 mile difference - it would be interesting to have both.
And oh BTW since you have more crap with you then a Christmas turkey I want witnesses :)
You ready to have your new toy spanked yet???
Les
When I tested the TRIC VS the VARARAM, I would have bet my bottom dollar that the TRIC would have made more power on the dyno that is why I can wait to take both the cars back to the dyno. As for racing when you get the car moving it is one hell of a pulling sensation that doesn’t stop. By the way people I am not sponsored by VARARAM, hell I bought my kit and WEST COAST CORVETTES, thanks for the overnight delivery guys.. By the way when I do the next tests on the dyno I will video both cars so we can all see, then I will video another 75 to 130 punch, just so we can all see. By the way I would like everyone to know I am not interested in dyno numbers, just how well the intake works on the street, I cant drag the dyno down the quarter mile:cheers:

Re: Tests Halltech VS VARARAM? (opticZ06)
Stock silver 02 VS stock EB 02 15 punch to 100 "EB 02 one car ahead"
Stock silver 02 VS stock EB 02 75 to 130 "EB 02 one car ahead"
Stock 02 silver with Halltech T-1 vs stock EB 02 with VARARAM 15 punch to 100. "EB 2.0 cars and pulling"
Stock 02 with Halltech T-1 1/8 mile VS stock 02 with VARARAM. "not yet"
Stock Silver 02 with Halltech and stock EB02 with VARARAM from 75 punch in 3rd to 130 mph.
"2.5 to 3 cars and pullen"
If anyone wants to know if the Vararam works it work better than I thought, by the way yes we relearned the cars and drove them for miles.
Well well we can put another members foot in his mouth. Z06LES you have a Halltech and you have headers and the 30 pound injectors, your blue Daddy sporting nothing but the vararam awaits you. I challange Z06LES to any race he would like to do. In addition he can watch as we test the other cars and join in the spanking. This way when we are done they can Flame your car. Call me son 404-739-7106 or leave me your number.
rb, What is more important to you wining real races, or the so accurate dyno's that match up so perfectly from all around the country? Fast cars are what important for me.How about you? We have seen dyno's don't match up, times from differant tracks on differant day's don't math up. Winning is the same all over. JMHO Ric

Re: Tests Halltech VS VARARAM? (Power Shifter)
Ric,
I'm all for winning races , but this particular "test" just reads like one big mess. If you want to do a real test run a few 1/4 mile passes with one intake, change the intake in the parking lot, drive about 20 miles, come back the same day and make a few more passes with the new intake. Forgot about running different intakes on different cars with different drivers, weather station predictions, etc.. ;)
FWIW, I have no affiliation with any intake. My Z06 is stock.

Re: Tests Halltech VS VARARAM? (Z06_2002)
I went back to stock after I dyno tested. I will continue to run stock until I can dial in a MAF tuning tool (MAFT or AFR1) with Autotap and a wideband O2 sensor. I ordered Autotap last week and I am still waiting for it. Running an aftermarket air intake without PCM tuning is not worth it to me. I am not married to the T1-C. If the T1-C does not provide what I am looking for I can easily afford to run with something else. I am also installing a 172 degree thermo and a fan controller.
FWIW, I do not believe any of the intake kits will perform miracles with the stock motor.
Autotap for tunning an intake is IMHO a waste of peso. All these intakes are great and have had tons of thought laid into to them.If your going to drag race we always suggest as a begginers basic Blackwing/Stinger and shifter if its an auto we emphasize a stall converter. You CANT get accurate Dyno #'s on intakes stick to the track for true#'s.Even with the BIG fans on or off it makes a 2-3 pony diff untill your pulling at 4500+rpm.
A strange phenomenom has happened lately and thats recent consistency on C-5 Dyno #'s most so on LS6 equipped motors. My 01 when stock on the LPE Dyno pulled 309 HP and about 314 Tqe the weakest LS6 ever ,so lets get it straight I hold LOW #'S record UNDISPUTED CHAMP!!! But all of a sudden in the last 5-6 Mos the 405 motors are pulling within 4-8 HP of each other that is amazing consistency and its 90% due to factory tuning.
If I dynotune 10 405's I will be within 1-2 HP of each other. The other factor is engine temp, oil temp/brand and viscosity and various uncontrolable atmospheric conditions.
I for 1 am impressed with the job GM engineering is doing and it will only get better.Im not looking to get involved in this war but I have some LS1 cars with cnc 5.3 truck heads we make to our spec less $$$$ than LS6 and better flowing ,mild(very) cam and FLP system and Stingers running mid 11's on street tires with a 200.00 Black wing and we find that ultra flow on 5.7 liter motors doesnt matter its nice to have stage 3 heads but why???.
will your motor use 325+ CFM properly. On a stroker or even an all bore big cube motor is when I'm going to spend your money ,seen to many 46lb. injectors with 12:1 CR booster pumps and lots of waste for a great motor that needs additional breathing from intake and exhuast but my question is at what point if any do you hit a point of diminishing returns???The best of luck stay open minded and remember some bolt ons and tuning kits are a waste of pesos but you cant loose with a well designed header.Dave
David, You have to try a VaraRam on a vette to understand it realy is differant than the others, it not only works very well on the 02, but without and other futzing around with the tuneing. You have come a long way since the first time we talked!! Good post. Ric
We will be posting our results on the Sidewinder vs. the Vararam, dyno number and track numbers with my 02' Z06, should be interesting. ;)
I will be looking for your results. It seems to me that the Vararam seems to be getting slightly more performance than the T1. But is it worth REPLACING a T1 with a Vararam?
Z06LES and I should be able to tell you that, we are planning to go to the 1/4 mile Friday, to beat the cars up again. He has the Halltech with the 30 pounders and headers, I have just the Vararam. I guess we will see.
