Really stupid question
is our dash board covered in leather or vinyl or neither? I am detailing my car and want to use the right thing on the dash. I'm thinking it is leather but I just want to be sure before I put the wrong stuff on it and mess it up

I would be careful with the shiny stuff, makes an awful glare and bad for reading the HUD if you have one.

Not too difficult or expensive to add. You can still put it in.

Here is a link to a do it yourself HUD install....I dont know if I would want to do it myself though. I dont mind pulling an engoine or changing my clutch but I do not like messing with the dash and wires...just me...

Very easy install, I installed one in mine 2 weeks ago and it worked out great, It cost me 300 bucks and about 4 hours of work.

Last time I checked it was 320 and that didn't include the 11 pin harness that is needed and hard to find.
I just happen to have an extra one.

Yep, the only leather is in the seats. Oh, and the transmission lever.

The dash is covered in vinyl. All I have ever used on my dash to clean it is some very mild soap (like Dove or Ivory) and a lightly moist cloth. Just wipe it down with the soapy solution, then use a clean slightly moist cloth to go over it again followed by a soft dry cloth. Has kept my dash looking like new for years. I would be hesitant to use something like Armor All on the dash - it could give you a glare and IMO, attracts dust.
Oh, and the steering wheel is leather covered.
