I've been watching the prices on the C5 and I'm definitely seeing an increase. Specifically the 2001 - 2004 years. When I bought my car, 2001 with 31,000 miles, I paid 18k for it. That was about a year ago. Now I've seen several cars very similar to mine in milage and equipment which are selling for the low to mid 20's. Might just be spring inflation I'm seeing but the value is definitely up.
I'm glad I bought my car when I did cause if I bought it now it would cost me a good four to five grand more than what I paid. Wish I could afford to scoop up a low milage Z06 to add to the collection
From what I have seen the prices on C5s are all over the map. I personally don't see them going up in value across the board but then again Spring is on the way and we will see a lot more of them on the market. If a buyer has C5 fever he will pay through the nose.
Low mileage and condition are the major factors as well as how desperate the seller is to off it.
Some buyers want highly modded C5s while others are looking for bone stock versions.
As the old saying goes, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
I'm looking at a couple coupes now. 00 mileage in the low teens only mods are exhaust and air intake, asking $23ish.
Second is a one owner 03, mileage in the mid twenties, asking $25.
I assume a little off both, but both seem fair??
The 00 seems a little high to me and the 03 seems like a fair price from what I've seen. I'm on the east coast so pricing may vary depending on where you live too.

I keep saying it in all these threads...it's about the value being recognized in a market of rising car prices for new vehicles. Put another way, the general public is slowly becoming aware of the C5 as tremendous bang for the buck.....a sleeper starting to awaken. I predict they will continue to rise in price and stay at a higher level for quite some time....enjoy what you got, or get in one now.
I'm reluctant to say prices have increased, but they certainly haven't decreased. Kinda glad I bought when I did last August when the dealer was extremely flexible. IMHO, the current prices validate the opinion of other members here who warned how spring fever will keep prices up.
One thing I've noticed is a sudden increase in C4s with mileage under 80K. Seems like a substantial increase with prices into the mid teens when they used to be around 10-12K.
I live in VA, and we have a property tax that they assess based on the NADA value, they seem to think my car is worth more and more each year. They valued it at 12K in 2011, 13.5K in 2012 and 15k in 2013. Bear in mid, I have an 03 with fairly high mileage (125,000) so I am a little shocked at the increase in value

Well there it is, PROOF. The government said C5's are increasing in value. Works for me!
one day we'll see a guy get an 80k mile 2001 coupe for 10k and everyone is like WOW that's so cheap
they just didn't mention the body damage, oil coated exhaust pipes or ripped seats
the next day you'll see a 2001 coupe with 80k miles sell for 15k and it was a clean well taken care of car
if you just go off price it's hard to understand the market. took me months or looking, watching, talking to really understand the c5 and c6 market. the c6 market is still coming down. c5's, especially the 01-04 cars seem to be stable with verts and z06s having the most demand
if you're a fiend like i was checking craigslist and autotrader 3x per day you'll eventually find a good deal on a nice car.
Paid $18,000 for my 04 auto coupe with both tops Z51 and full history report 2 years ago Dec.5. Had only 52,000 on the clock and is in perfect condition. All options except 12 disc changer. Seems I can sell it for much more than that now. Only have 63,000 miles on it now. Hopefully I will be able to keep it with my darling wife of 29 years taking off for greener pastures. Will find out next month. Best thing is it is paid for.

I can't imagine living in a state that taxes your personal property on things like your corvette. In pennsylvania we only have property tax on realestate which drives us crazy. Why do people put up with this in states like yours ? You buy the car it should be yours ! Thats like never being able to pay off your car. Is this still America ? Why don't you fight back ?
Boat, several hundred property tax, Vert, buck fifty tax, motorhome, several hundred, even the worthless old snowmobiles are a buck each! Got to pay for all those kids' education, ya know!
I've tried to follow the Z06 prices since late last fall. Ebay provides so few completed sales, it's difficult to know what actual sales pricing is. Spring seems to have pushed up asking prices, but at what dollar figure are they changing hands? The few local Z's ( Bham,Al.) seemed to sit forever on the market.

it's all about condition. it's going to be hard to really put your finger on it unless you watch the market for a few months. mileage is only part of the equation. the rest you have to see in person. there are 20k mile cars that are track mules that are worth no where near 20k mile z06 price. on the flip side their are old man owned 50-100k mile cars in outstanding condition that imo are the most desirable since you can work a reasonable deal and have a nice rattle free drives like new car. i kid you not the 90k mile 2002 Z that i own is in better shape than a 40k mile one i looked at a few weeks back the guy wanted 22.5k for
cars that sit forever are typically one of two things. overpriced or in need or repairs-abused.
i bought my z with the ad being less than 24hrs old from the time the owner posted it
i have a lot of closed sales statistics in my head but it's even hard to post those having only seen a couple of the cars in person. i can tell you this much. the bottom of the c5 z06 market is about 15k which is where many 100-140k mile 2001 cars in average to rough condition sell. the top is roughly 30k which is typically where like new 04 com editions sell. the sweet spot is right around 20k unless you get extremely lucky like i did.
it's not unusual to find a well taken care of 2002 car with say.... 70k miles in good overall condition sell for 18k
a 2001 with 50k also in good condition will typically fetch that 18k as well.
you're more likely to find a good deal on an 01z than any other year since they are the slow ones and some burn oil

That is insane. I'm surprised there hasn't been a revolt. Maybe thats a good arguement for the second ammendment , give the ***tards an inch and they will take it all. I don't know what the taxes are now , but years ago I remember talking to a guy that sold used classic car parts in Ohio and he was telling me that every item in his inventory was taxed under a property tax and he said it was about to put him out of business so he had to reduce his inventory just to stay in business. At that time and being from Pa. all of my life I had never even heard of anything like that. All of a sudden I felt like I was standing in a communist state.
