Default custom avatar question

I can't figure what I'm doing wrong. Trying to edit avatar with custom avatar. I click on custom avatar then click on browse button. Open picture, picture info goes in gray area by browse button. I then click save changes and upload file failed comes on screen. What am I doing wrong. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you have it formatted wrong, make sure its a JPG and also make sure the size is correct

Maybe your post count doesn’t give you that permission level yet?

You'd think sponsoring members should get some doors opened. Besides I did mine real early, maybe after 10 posts or less..

I suggest making sure it's resized (for example in MS Paint) to a small pixel dimension. 100-200 pix or so

Right click on the pic and then click "Open with" then click "Paint" when it opens in paint go to resize up in the tool bar and where it says 100 change that to 50 or like the previous poster said just change the amount of pixels to 200

I'd practically guarantee it's the image size. You are permitted avatars to be 150x150 pixel size TOPS. 160x140 won't work.

You can use a site such as http://www.resizeyourimage.com/ to create it
Use the browse button to locate your desired image on your hard drive, it will then
upload it. Use the Width and Height buttons and enter the pixel size in each one. Then click on the "resize your image" button. It will then resize it for you. Make sure it's a jpg file type. When satisfied, download it to your system and you can then upload it to your avatar.

You can also use sites such as tinypic.com but most don't allow you to specify the actual pixel size that you want.

Hope this helps ya.

If you want to send the picture to me I will resize it and make sure the KBs are small enough.
