There are plenty of threads talking about history or current codes which we can trace and fix using the manuals or with all the advice around here.
I got to thinking about how many of us have intermittent faults.
I have 2. On start it takes a few seconds before the electrics come on line. Sometimes I get a "shocks inoperative" warning. It clears almost immediately and no code is set. Even Bill Curlee is stumped. I had a P1416 air bank sensor code that came on recently but only once and hasn't reoccurred. I should also add the dreaded total power failure with a shut down at the side of the road but the car then fired up immediately. That was back in 2004 but my battery failed shortly afterwards.
Do you have a code or a warning that sets occasionally but then clears? If so what?

Fortunately, my car has not shown any signs of intermittent codes or warnings - in fact, it has never displayed any trouble messages on the DIC. Hope it stays that way. And if it is stumping Bill Curlee, it must be a really difficult one to figure out.

Jack - Truly the Gods have blessed you. I sometimes feel like I'm slowly working my way through all of them. My engine just up n quit at about 70 MPH yesterday. Car would not restart. Towed home. PO335C, Crankshaft Position Sensor and U1000C, Loss of Comm-Unknown showed on DIC. (3rd time engine quit. Prior incidents chalked up to bad battery and/or bad ignition switch, both now rectified.)
So this morning, I disconnected battery ground. After some coffee, I re-connected and started the car. All codes now history. Cleared codes and restarted. No codes. Wife refuses to ride in car. Now afraid to drive more that 5 miles from home.
