I recently installed a borla stinger exhaust on my 03 z. Immediately after install, I began having a knocking noise over bumps. I have checked and rechecked several times, and the exhaust is not hitting anything. They only other thing that was messed with was the rear sway bar, which is tight. It almost sounds like something is hitting the plastic underbody of the car. Im stumped and frustrated. I did have to jack the car up really high on the right side to removed the stock exhaust, which put alot of weight on the left rear, which is where the noise seems to be coming from, did I possibly hurt something? Any help is appreciated.
No you did not cause any damage by jacking too high on one side, i did that waay too many times mine and friends with absolutely no problem.
check muffler rubber clamp by rear bumper side, you may not insert muffler hooks properly or not inserted into rubber properly......i did that one time was frustrated and jack up the car...start chasing noise by hitting exhaust all the way upto muffler hangers...yepper i found it.

thanks for the reply. I didnt think I hurt it by jacking it up like that, but you never know. Ive checked those rubber hooks, they do seem a bit looser than with the factory mufflers, but not overly loose as to cause a noise, but I will check that again, right now.
Well, rechecked the rubber mounts, they seem fine. shook the exhaust hard, cant get it to duplicate the sound. The sway bar links are tight, but the links themselves seem pretty free, I can easily move them back and forth with two fingers. Is that normal?
check the axle nuts, 33mm I believe. I think out of 10 C5 Z06s I have checked, at least 6 of them I could get a quarter inch turn with a torque wrench set to 120 ftlbs
