I'm looking at buying or renting a single car trailer to carry a C5Z. Any suggestions at which companies rent such trailers, or which trailers are best to buy? I live in Ontario Canada and just bought a vette in the US, in the process of picking it up. Thx.
You are going to get responses that will be all over the place. You may want to narrow this discussion down a little. Open or closed trailer? Steel or aluminum deck? New or used? Budget? What do have to use for tow vehicle. What are you going to use the trailer for - shows or track? How frequent and how far?
Lots of experience with trailering and tow vehicle on these boards - help is on the way
if you're renting from u-haul, make sure to get the all gray auto transport. the center rails on the orange ones are too tall.
i've personally got a 16' PJ flatbed & it does great. just use boards to extend the ramps and i sometimes back the truck onto shop ramps to get an even shallower angle (my car's lowered).

You work to hard getting no where fast.
Call your insurance company, insure the thing, get the tags, jump on a air plane, fly in, put on the plates,, drive the thing home.
If your wanting a trailer to keep it in dew to you all's weather, go enclosed like DD showed you with his white SUV. In summer you can use the trailer for a ton of things, Winter, your vette is totally covered.
Lot of used on e bay.
That becker trailer looks like nice trailer! I have a enclosed trailer for my C5,Had to get creative to tie it down, in the front, not like a regular car,but it work out great.I love the the enclosed trailer.
I have a trailer similar to Double D and used it bring the last C5 home. Mine is a 20 ft unit, enclosed, with a ramp that easily clears the air dams when you drive up. I used adjustable tie-down straps to tie it down inside at the 4 lower control arms (watch the wheel speed sensor cables), screwed chocks to the floor of the trailer at the front and back tires, and stuffed wide blocks of upholstery foam along the sides. Towed it all with a F-150 and it went smoothly. If you use a trailer that has the wheel tubs inside the unit, make sure they have enough separation inside the unit to allow the car to drive between them. There wasn't much clearance to open the doors once in the trailer but if it's a vert you just put the top down and climb out of it without opening the doors.

e-track on the floor works good. that's what i did for the front on mine.
Thanks for all your responses. I"ve talked with some local vette owners and will be using an enclosed commercial hauler on this move because of my work schedule and the dirty roads, otherwise I'd drive her. Let's hope spring comes to the north soon. Freezing rain warning & ice pellets today with a winter storm warning north of here.
