On my 2001, there's a small grey locking clip that you can pull up n out with pliers; then there's a tab on the engine side of the connector that needs to be squeezed in .. then you can pull the connector up n away.
I re-did my ignition switch last month and the hardest part by far was figuring how the heck to disconnect the various electrical connections. WTF can't they all be the same???
