Wouldn't you know it! After dealing with the snake in the shop I finally show up at the car show this morning with both cars ready to work the runway like fine long legged models. Pop the hoods and start the final wipedowns and I noticed the front emblem coming apart before my eyes! It looks like a total wreck and I tried to find glue or anything to make it look better....no way anything would work. So now I know darn good and well any hope at winning anything is down the crapper.
To my total surprize...my C5 wins Corvette class, AND my girls C4 wins the 80's class.......not too bad afterall !!
Congrats on the wins Rick! However, I have never seen a C5 emblem fall apart like that. Must be all that Texas sun!
Maybe now would be the time to get one of those custom Texas flag C5 emblems I've seen pop up on the forum from time to time...
Must be! When removing my rear emblem a couple months ago, the thing just broke to little bits! Not planning to replace it though since there was not fade behind the emblem (surprisingly) and I think it looks better without it
Congratulations on both! Looks like there were some GREAT cars there from the past. I can recall those 50's models crusing through the drive-in (think Arnolds) when in high-school.

Nice pictures! Whenever you have an imperfection on your Corvette, as the owner, your eyes go right to it even though others probably don't notice it. I have a tiny door scratch about a quarter inch long under my driver's side mirror and my eyes go to it every time I get in the car. I don't think anyone else has ever noticed it, even at car shows.
