I found a guy that has a baby on the way and needs to get rid of his 1998. I have a 2006 grand cherokee w/ 84k miles that I need to sell. However, he said he may be interested in a trade + cash.
he was asking 14800 , but now he has it down to 13500. has 67k miles and appears to be in good shape.
i'm asking 10800 for my jeep locally.....thinking of telling him my jeep and 3000 cash.
obviously I would have to drive a few hours and make my final decision in person, but I think it is an ok deal as long as it's not beat.
any thoughts?
1998 - 67k miles

K&N cold air intake.
Have to agree with Vetteman Jack. That sounds like a fair price for a decent car. 67K on a 15 yr old car isn't bad at all. My 98 had more miles but I gave a lower price than that 1½ yrs ago. My 98 checked out very well, and other than the few "normal" problems that happen to C5s, it's been perfectly trouble free. If the car appeals to you, and it checks out, I'd go for it. Considering also that this time of year is when Vettes start going up in price too.. that's a good price. Easy to get your $$ back out of it as well if you decide to sell or trade it later. Lastly, if you do obtain, it is required that you post pics here for the rest of us to enjoy!!
Sounds like a reasonable deal but keep in mind you not only have to like his Vette, he has to like your Jeep. Ultimately the deciding factor will probably be the cash difference. If he really likes the Jeep it won't take as much as if he really doesn't like the Jeep.
Make sure you know how to pull codes before you make the final deal. Remember to pull the codes before you shut down the engine so you know what is H or C or both.
Agree with all. Very fair deal if the car checks out reasonably. For reference, my dad just bought a 99 coupe with ~63k mi for 13,500 however it was all stock. I think the cai and a few other goodies are a plus!
Seems like a good deal. One thing is to watch those ceramic brake pads with the drilled and slotted rotors. I have them and I plan to switch back to the softer OEM brake pad. I like the feel better.

"Drive a few hours" in what direction? It isn't a "Hurricane Sandy" car, is it?
