I'd like to see a pic or two of the driver seat of a base c5 so I can compare it to mine. The plastic outside the actual seat(coming up from the bottom)is bowed out, like a truly obese person was driving. It's also on the passenger side so I'm thinking it was a seat swap or two fatties used to roll around in the car!
Iwent to RSR to see if hey would/could venture an opinion but they were closed and I didn't feel like driving all the way to COH. Cars and coffee will probably be a wash(out)due to all the rain we're supposed to get tonight and tomorrow.

That was a descriptive remark because the seats themselves are great. They retain their shape. The plastic looks like it was made for a much larger seat, heavily upholstered.
I have an e46 with strong bolsters on the seats and back. Before that I had an e90 with barely padded at all seats.
I'm still getting to know my car and havequestions. I considered putting sparcos in my e46 but it's a cabriolet and will not accept them w/o major reconfiguring(tracks and seat belts). I've seen some racing seats in the cars here and they look pretty comfortable.
As a "fattie", I have to say that "discriptive" or not, I still found it quite offensive!!!!!!! Who knows where your life experiences will lead you? Personally, mine have led me into a job where much of my time is spent sitting. It all adds up!!! Soon you find yourself looking at a stranger in the mirror. We do what we can to correct it, but most times the results take much longer than we would prefer.
I'm there too, man!
I guess I should have said the whole seat plastic looks like my pressed suit pants five minutes after I put them on: all rolled down over my belt!
The Drivers seat in my car is the same way, I just bought it about 3 months ago and it has been that way since i bought it and I thik it just from wear. It looks like it happens because when you spin sideways to get out of the car your butt is actually sitting on the side of the seat and this ends up wearing the seat down. Mine has 97,000 miles on it so it had alot of getting in and out of it over the years I'm sure. I will post a pic if you want but I'm sure its the same issue yours has
Mr. Bill, thank you for the most excellent pics and them are some hot red seats. How old/new are they? The plastic shell seems to fit very tight. Are those seats the ones that have the space at the top, between the back and headrest?
Sircampsalot, I believe you have hit it on the head, sir! This based on my assumption that Mr.Bill's seats are pretty new!
I truly apologize if my opening comparisons offended anyone!

Yes they are sport seats and they are 11 years old with 60K miles, I did have to replace the drivers foam last year, But that was it.
