No such thing as top down weather this year, at least in the southeastern parts of the U.S. this year.
The Southeastern U.S. has become the new rain forrest. Rains at least 3 out of 4 weekends, and 4 out of seven days. Sick of the rain. Ground cannot hold more water. Been doing this sice December and next week and weekend weather report is more of the same.
