Went to watch the grandson's ball game; got an East Texas gullywasher instead. Normally when it looks like rain I'll take the F-350 but it's in the shop today.
This was the first time I've driven the Z in the rain and this was a heavy rain where the water was 1-3 inches on the road most of the time. Went though an area where the water collected to about 6 inches at about 30 mph. The conti's did real good. I was driving very conservatively (30-50 mph). The tires always felt good, only got lose when I got a little overconfident and took a left turn a little bit too hard, but recovered right away.
I too have been impressed with my (rear, stock-size) DWs' performance, both on dry and wet. They're still relatively new to my Z, but I'm inclined to get them again next time. I can't handle water more than three inches deep (lowered on stock bolts), but the DWs handled this kind of water amazingly well. When everyone else--all kinds of vehicles--was pulling over due to torrential rains, my Z could handle highway speeds or better unabated and without give. I thought my previous PS2s were good in the rain, but the DWs outshone them. (I've got stock-size Falkens on the front, and they too showed no signs of difficulty in the wet.)
