Really nice guy, babied the car. He had it for sale for awhile in the middle of nowhere (to me anyway) and had his eye on somethin else, never said what. Saw the ad on a Tues and got the car on a Thurs...money talks!
I paid $27,000 for my 2004 Z06 Commemorative edition 20k miles at that time. I bought it in Dec 2011.
asking price was $28,750 I fell in love with it the second the owner opened the garage. I would have paid his asking price, if he wasn't willing to come down, but he did.
if you didn't someone else would have, sub 20k mile z16 cars have been closing 28-30k on ebay every time one comes up,
Pristine (excellent condition) garage kept 02-04 Z06s with 30K or less in Atlanta, GA area are selling from 25-28K.
I have seen a spike in the price since Spring hit here. Some that were around 25K are going for 28K now. KBB is showing a spike as well for low mileage Z06s.
It has to do with year, location, mileage, and condition. I bought my 2001 with 40,260 miles two months ago for $19k from a 71 year old man in Arkansas. He didn't know about forums and I found it on Autotrader. I feel like I nearly stole it for that price as it is nearly spotless, I would say a 9.5 out of 10 outside and 9.8 out of 10 inside. I am sure I could sell it easily on here for $21k but plan to keep it for many years. In Dallas it could probably fetch $23-24 at a dealer. You will get a better deal from an individual.
Just bought an 02 Z06 with 54k miles, practically flawless paint, clean record, for $20,500. Two owners, Torch Red. Has a couple small things I need to take care of, but mechanically it's sound.
Bought my late 03 last year for $23,500 with 31k miles. Had longtubes, devider, floormats, short antenna, keyhole magent, column lock bypass, all the nice little crap i wanted, already done and is in very good condition in and out. Was owned by a mechanic so it was driven but well maintained. And it had pretty much brand new ps2 tires which is what allowed me to convince myself to pull the trigger. I didn't want to spend over 22k, which i think can be done fairly easily if you are patient looking for a car in the sub 40k miles range. But the fact that the car had well over $3000 of things i already decided i needed to do to it done. I didn't feel too bad spending every cent I could afford.
Outside fluids, pads, and front rotors it has 2 track days on it, with 0 cost. I suspect I will get through 2 more this year without having any cost if it all holds together. Which is nice considering my bank account is still recouperating. By next year buying $1500 in tires wont hurt so much.
01 Z06 MY 72k Miles good condition, lowered, headers, cam, vararam, short antennae, new tires, good interior, good paint, cags eliminated and column lock bypass installed $17k last weekend. They're out there, you just have to keep looking and move fast when you see them.
I see pristine sub-30k mile Z06's advertised for around 25k, but I don't see them sell for that much on eBay. What does a very nice Z06 sell for nowadays?
Picked my 02 Procharged Z 14k miles, Corsa Exhaust, Pirelli PZeros 275 30ZR19 Front
305 30ZR19 Rear, CCW 505a's....For $30k, Well worth it!
01 Z06 MY 72k Miles good condition, lowered, headers, cam, vararam, short antennae, new tires, good interior, good paint, cags eliminated and column lock bypass installed $17k last weekend. They're out there, you just have to keep looking and move fast when you see them.
this is the kind of deal i would go for if i were a buyer
find something with a few miles on it that someone has kept up and fixed the bugs
granted you get better paint on really low mile cars but when you go to sell it, it's much easier to find buyers in the teens than in the mid 20s
I am an old guy (66) that sold my TR '04 Z06 with 1067 miles for $30,000 in February 2011. I am so sorry I sold the car, that I can't sleep at night. Unfortunately, I needed the money at the time more than I needed the car. Due to my age and lower income now, I know I will never have another Corvette, but the memories are still good.
I paid 15K for my 01 with minor mods (Bolt ons/Rocker arm trunion upgrade) and 100K on it. It was the salesmans personal car. It looks like a 10,000 mile car it was his daily for years
