Darn! '03 window problem - Premature jubilation.

The strange part is that when she pushed the up arrow again it did work putting the window all the rest of the way up but now won't go down. And none of the switches will make it work. Not even the button you push to release the top so it can be taken down.
Any other thoughts on what could be happening?
Thanks again!
It is definitely your window regulator/motor unit. After "fixing" mine in the same manner as you 5 months ago, I have had the window quit on me again about 2 months after the fix. I simply opened the passenger door, and banged quite hard, several times on the door panel......and the window started working again, and has been fine ever since.
Some people have no problems for years, others are hampered with intermittent problems and resort to fitting a new regulator/motor set. I have a new regulator sitting right here in the garage, and if the window gives me trouble again it is going right on.
Take the door panel off again, repeat the banging. If the window works again, make sure you use the window every time you get in the car................ and order a regulator set from www.upanddownmainstreet.com.
The video at upanddownmainstreet shows how to get to the regulator and indeed, that's what you are stating is likely the problem. This also makes sense as the spot we whack with the hammer is directly in front of the regulator.
This is opposed to the door module which is what the dealer stated as the problem. I'm not challanging your fix as much as I'm trying to understand what the module does and if it can be part of the problem.
BTW, the "clicking" sound I described in the original thread was coming from the module. Here's a picture of the module:

[/IMG]Have you had any issues with this part being bad?
Really appreciate everyone's help with this. However it turns out, I'm now very confident that I can do the fix myself.
I'm not exactly sure what the window module does, I'm assuming it is an electrical junction box which also acts as a safety valve. When power is applied, but the motor refuses to operate, the module clicks as a sign that it detects a problem and disconnects power.
I too got the same clicking from the module when the regulator/motor failed.
