I was at the plant today for the tour and saw the first 2003, which rolled off the line today. It was a new anv. red colored convertible.
All the cars built after it were 2003, so if yours is one of the first 100 or so, it will get built in the next week.
They shut the plant down for 2 weeks in July starting the first week, for vacation for the employees, so if yours is not built next week, you have to wait an extra 2 weeks.
Is that a white car behind your friend's Z, or is it a silver? I mean, it CAN'T be a white car, right, because the nincompoops at GM killed the wonderful, classic Corvette White by introducing that beige Speedway white, which very few people wanted. Result? Low sales on white, so "Let's kill it". Stupid....
Come to think of it, was that my new QS Z behind your friend's car? I have a 6/24 build date....and if they started early......hmmmmmmmm......
It very well may be your car. If so, my buddy appoligizes about the rubber on the hood. BTW it's a good thing they had plastic on the seats my bud had to be "pryed" out of the car.
Wait a minute! The best friend in that picture is me!! Yes, the car behind mine on the line is a white color. I couldn't tell you if it was a coupe or a vert though. Didn't pay much attention to the rest of them , just mine  I did love the new anniversary red! The pictures doesn't do them justess! The new spiral grey is a beautiful color as well! Allthough the metal flake in the paint would make it very difficult to touch up if it were to get scratched. The museum delivery wait is the killer!!
Now hold on a cotton-picking minute........how can that be a white car? There IS no white for 2003.....right? What's going on here? 50thZ06, are you dead sure it was white?
Does anybody have a clue on this? Why was there a white car on a 2003 production run?
Accually 50thZ06 e-mailed it to me. It seems that if you go thru the plant watching your car being built as he did, they will take pics of you & your car in different phases of production. He was the first to set in it, start it, put wheels on it which in my opinion is just way too kewl. So if you are planning on a 2003 & can make the arrangements from what I have heard, you can be the first to do so & the plant will take pics of the event.
