You know Rick, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'm kinda liking your interior!!!!
Irv
Now that doesn't look too bad. I wouldn't give you as much hell. Still not my taste. I think the black plays off the checkered way better than the red (red with black checkers is like a seizure waiting to happen.)
You are right though everyone is entitled to their opinion, I gave mine, I wasn't expecting to get attacked. The first time that's ever happened to me on a forum not involving 10 year olds or Civics.
That looks pretty decent though to me. Because all of the black really plays off the checkered and the yellow is done perfectly. without the checkered and just the yellow I'd give it a 9/10 with the checkered and black interior with the yellow Ill give it a 7/10.
If you post pictures of a visual modification, expect some folks that don't like what you've done. If you're happy with what you've done to your car, that is all that matters.
Again you don't want opinions don't post it on a public forum.
That's not all you said bud. There's a mature way to go about telling someone your opinion on something, and you just expressed your opinion like all of those "19 and 22 year old ricer" kids you were just talking about. Me, personally, wouldn't do this to my car, but I think it's something cool to look at as sometimes the cookie cutter interior that you probably have, as well as myself, gets tiring to look at in posted pictures because everyones interior came the same way from the factory. Chillax man
It does a little, but I just got used to it. I'm sure it's just like all the Corvettes from the 50's and 60's with their red dash's. Once you drive it it just becomes a none issue after awhile.

PS, stay away from my car.
OK!
Rick if I were to drive down will you spend some money on my car ?
Rick, as a car designer, I admire your vision. Obviously your car is not for everyone , but just to let you know , I like it! For whatever that is worth.

Coming from you, That comment is really appreciated. Thank You Sir!
And yes it's totally loud, not for the average joe for sure. But GM sold thousands of Corvettes with RED interiors before. I'm just channeling what was before, and maybe should be again.
I have some custom builds that became recognized by (Star Motorcycles) and have no problem stepping out when the urge hits me. This car just manifests my ideas. Of course it's not what everyone wants....there's black for that. But even so, there will be others who see beyond the ordinary and that's the guys/gals who I like to show this stuff too.
ET, that comment made my day like you wouldn't believe! Like Leonardo Di Vinchi saying to the guy who assembled his ikea chair he bought, "Looka that's a marvelous job you done!"
I can't believe Mattie Num Nums was bad mouthing the fuzzy dice of all things!
OK....now for my opinion and I've really only ran across one person here who cared at all about something I said, boy was he pissed!
Some how Rick pulls it off. Most cars I've seen that have been modded as heavily as Rick's wind up being a train wreck, IMHO. Rick's Vette is not something I would do, but I like it! He has managed to keep the "over all" appearance pleasing to the eye.
A week or 2 ago, when Blitz and James were having the whose car is the best thread, I showed both their cars to my wife. The first thing she said was I don't like those "tail thingys". I immediately thought if she doesn't like that I wonder what she would think about Rick's car. So I showed her a picture. Much to my surprise her reaction was "that's spiffy". I ask her why she thought it was spiffy.......she really couldn't answer, she just liked the looks of it. I think it all comes together nicely.

I always thought GM missed a golden opportunity by not releasing anniversary editions (10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th) with white exteriors and red interiors to match the original 1953 Corvette. It would be cool if that color combo was only made available for those years.
