Default My new C5

Well I finally found a C5 I will post pics when I get it cleaned up. The only thing I hate is the shifter on it, its the standard btw. So my question is what is the best after market short shifter kit for it.

Asking about the best shifter is like asking what is the best color (Torch Red, by the way).

Many like the MGW, it is very popular. I liked mine but went back to the C6 shifter for my Z. RSD and TPS both make cut down versions of the C6 shifter, that decreases the throw.

You will get as many opinions on this as there are shifters. Good luck, they are all better than the stock shifter IMHO.

I did the same because I had issues shifting from 4th to 5th with the MGW shifter. I now have a stock C6 shifter and all is good.

ok... SUQ: What's so different about the C6 stock shifter vs the C5? Shorter throw? Less "notchey" feeling? wha?

Where the h*&& are my manners today. <blush> Congrats on the car! Looking forward to pics!

I cut my shifter down 1 3/4 inches, added my homemade shift ****, works great.

Gene, at GMPartshouse, a forum vendor, has the C6 shifter, **** and box at a around $200. Replace the box while you are at it. Or go for the RSD shifter, it is a cut down version of the C6 shifter with box, so it will have a shorter throw, with a slight increase in effort, physics ya know.

I use a C6 Z06 shifter and am very happy with it. I had a Hurst and hated it.
