I did something stupid. I sold a member a blackwing he paid for it. I also sold another member windscreen but couls not figure out how to ship it so I refunded the money. I clicked on the wrong email and refunded the money to the wrong guy. I asked for a return of the refund and so far I receive no reply. What do you think should he keep the money due to my stupid mistake or send it back?
That's a no brainer... they guy who received the money he was not entitled too, would then be considered a thief, if he did not return it. Also would be someone I would not want to let in my house, or trust with my trash.
A moral and ethical man would not have accepted the money by mistake in the first place.
On the other hand I know there are people in this forum who would consider that your mistake is their gain.

Hope it was a member in good standings and not a new member, I have seen how some of the new members post and act, If that is the case you just might be without your funds, I hope he proves me wrong and is a stand up guy.
As was said, a respectable individual would send you back the money and understand that mistakes happen.
You could always send another e-mail asking them to simply send you back 90 or 95% of the original price as a way of thanking them for their understanding and effort to get you your money back. Tell them the offer is good for only a week, and see if this prompts them to respond.
You should get it back. I would send the person an invoice via paypal as a gentle reminder.
Paypal can help but give the person a chance. In addition you have the address as you shipped the Blackwing. send them a registered letter.
Another thing to consider is that many people use commerce-specific emails for their online transactions so they may not be checking their inbox on a regular basis.
Give this person a reasonable amount of time to respond and if he doesn't, inform PayPal who will also reach out to the buyer. I'm sure this kind of thing happens on occassion and will not be new to PayPal.
You have his name and address so that helps. Even if the guy plays dumb, you can issue a formal complaint through PayPal which will then hurt his profile reputation.
If the amount you refunded is still in his PayPal account and has not been transferred to his bank account, PayPal may be able to act on your behalf based on the documentation, etc.
Hope it was a member in good standings and not a new member, I have seen how some of the new members post and act, If that is the case you just might be without your funds, I hope he proves me wrong and is a stand up guy.
Some of the new member's behavior blows my mind.
The person that received the refund by mistake should return the money. I know I would.
But then I'm the type of guy that will correct a restaurant bill by pointing out that the waiter/ waitress forgot to charge me for something I ordered/ received. Or when given to much change, return the difference no matter how large or small.
I have never asked for a refund back from Paypal but you may see if you can open a dispute of the transaction.
