I'm still looking for a C-5 and have narrowed my search down to a 2001-2004 convertible automatic. I went to see one on Friday, a 2002 blue vert 50,000 miles with a few mods such as chrome roll bars, fancy glove box top and a rear spoiler. Problem is when I went to start it the battery was almost dead. Salesman said car has been sitting for over a week. Battery looked new but I couldn't see the date code. Jump box and fired right up. Question is does the C-5 draw a lot of juice while dormant? Is this a condition I should be worried about? I really like the car but have had bad electrical experiences with other vehicles in the past. Thanks in advance.

Something to keep in mind, If a C5 is going to sit for over a week you need to keep it on a float charger, It is a known fact that the C5 is a battery eating son of a gun.

There is some draw on a battery while a c-5 is sitting in the garage. I leave my Convertible sit for a month at a time sometimes, with no problem. Many here use a battery tender for their cars that aren't used often.
With that said, if the car as dead after only a week, I'm guessing the battery is on it's last legs. I'd make a new Delco battery as part of the deal. Make sure it is rated correctly for a C-5.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm guessing the chrome roll bars and spoiler are aftermarket items? Also the wheels are polished. Love the electron blue color.

After market yes, In most cases the verts have the 2 chrome hoops one behind each seat and they are for looks only and the spoiler would be after market also.

I usually let my car sit about 2 weeks. Any longer than that and it would be a sluggish start. Although, once fired up and running for 5-10 minutes, the battery would be topped off.

The C5 has a ton of sensors that don't seem to turn off. (C6 does this too, actually.)

with what's already been said about the spoiler/roll bars and the battery. Just to add, the Electron Blue color is great (of course I may be a bit biased).

I'm about as biased as Jack is regarding EB... no clue why though.

It's supposed to rain all week here - headed out to hook up the BTP just 'because' - better safe than sorry.

Good luck - pics !
