Great pic's, very helpful. It looks like you removed the original mirror at the winshield... any trick to getting it to release?

Mine is a 99 and I just looked at my original mirror. It has a torx screw in it to secure it to the mount on the windshield. I used the original mount on the windshield to put the mirror on. It works good enough and if it ever comes unglued I can use the one that came with the new mirror.

Looks factory! Mine is a 2001 and appers to be held on with some type of clip (no machine screw) looks like it might slide upwards, if I can just figure out how to release the retaing clip. Thanks Chris.
