you can look at the shock dynos and see the difference. fronts are very similar, rear compression is similar, it's the rear rebound that's drastically different. the c6z favors compliance which will be faster on uneven terrain or street racing. the bilstein uses a conventional rebound curve similar to the 02z shocks. it's stiffer and if someones likes a tight feeling car they would feel this more so than the 04 or 06 z shocks, but, that stiffness will reduce traction on uneven terrain which is a huge part of most streets
mob down some backroads at 90-120mph and you'll really notice a difference

if you have to buy bilstein get those from DRM.
i don't have any personal exp at all with them, but, have used DRM products for over a decade and the guys there are true enthusiasts. if they say they are improved over the stock valving for stock spring rates and street / weekend track driving i would chance it with the $425 rather than buying the off the shelf sports which, just by looking at the dyno, would create a dicey backend at high speed on any surface that isn't really smooth
