Default Any CUSTOM modified center consoles?

I dont expect this to get a ton of feed back, purely on the lack of modding (other than DD) that center consoles receive. My point is, if you look at the new Viper or C7 interiors, the approach that is being taken is "Its all about the driver". Has anyone modded, added CF or anything else, to their C5 interior that enhance the driver seat?

Ive seen a few boost gauge clusters added where the ash tray is... but anything else??

Also, what would it take to replace our C5 CCs with a console out of a C7? I think they are simply sick!! Id like to do a continual flow of small mods to keep my 12 year old Z up-to-date looking.

And to tackle the question of "why not just buy a newer car?" ANSWER. You just cant beat a Modded C5 FRC. That design will stay classic and sexy.

Here's a good look what the members have done:

Half wrap and paint makes a big difference. Here's my version of it (also removed the dividers between the radio and the A/C and the ashtray).

I've been thinking of a fiberglass mold and a more radical modernization. It's definitely easier than hacking and pasting a console from another car.

Appreciate it! Ive actually written ALL over that thread, one of my favorites. Im wondering if you could cut a C7 CC to fit in a C5. Our HVAC is 16 years old... they littlerally got their driver license this year!! lol IF you did manage to get it to fit, could you wire the HVAC from the C5 ECM to the controls on the C7?

I know some guys are yelling blaspheme!!! ...but it technically. if you look at it this way, without change, we'd still be stuck on the C1 design. ..and suspension. ...and 285 hp.. ..and safty standards.

Anything can be done with enough skill and effort. To me the own radio and climate control fit the style of the rest of the car, but there are certainly things that can be done. I would go fully custom though, cutting up existing parts is not easy at all.

This is interesting enough, and I'll do some research. I got two quarts of resin left from my previous project...

I can keep the flash drive out of sight.

It fits just right between the power port and the gas cover switch.

You have to do some minor surgery.

You can get the adapter at sfcable.com it is part # UB11-05C.

4-40 pan head machine screws are not included.

Nicely done! I saw earlier today that some guys have taken the waterfall out of verts and put it in their coupes. I think that would look pretty cool, but id also have to add some speakers... might as well
