Default C5 Ground Effects

There are a number of ground effect vendors and the prices vary widely. So assuming that the quality does also, does anyone have experience with the quality of ACI, RK Sports, C5 West and ACP regarding the side rocker extensions or side skirts as they are sometimes called? Did some searches but did not find a comparison between the brands as of recent. Thanks.

Side skirts are only really needed or good with a full aero package; splitter, extractror hood, and WING, not spoiler, and a flat under-body, with rear diffuser.

these skirts are for sliding though corners slightly too allow the air around the body.

side skirts should also be tough enough to stand on.

so if your putting them on for looks, it does not matter, for real use ACPs

I have the ACI front splitter and side skirts. They are cosmetic only as I obay all posted speed notifications. Love the looks and get many comments from gawkers.

Installing the Side Skirts / Splitter looks GREAT, it looks like you are now closer to the ground and probably hit more stuff ?

Is this a problem

All of my parts are from ACI. Very good company to deal with and a very good product. I did it for purely cosmetic reasons.

Which one of us you are talking to , if its me take a closer look at my stance my car is as low as I think it should be now with said I have not had a clearance issue yet ( knock on wood ) what your not seeing is how the side skirts are mounted , there is what I would call a belly in them or a Vally if you will , they really don't sit below the car they just appear that way , I'm sure MG RED are prolly the same way

The side skirts are virutally flush with the rocker panels on the car and aren't any lower than the car itself. the front splitter doesn't hang any lower than the rubber deflectors that are under the nose of the car from the factory. In fact the center deflector hangs lower than the splitter. Where people have a problem is that with the front splitter it is much closer to the nose of the car. If you approach inclines or declines at a straight angle you can scrape the underside. However the ACI splitter can take some abuse. If you take inclines at an angle you will not scrape. Even if you do scrape this will not be visable unless you are under the car. Obviously if your car is lowered there's less clearance. More of a concern would be road debris, but with the C5 that's always gonna be a problem since we are low to begin with.

Road debris, and parking blocks... I have the ACI splitter and sides, and I am happy with them.

Let's just say, you wouldn't want to run over an Armadillo...that would be a bad modification....

Thanks all. Even if they are just for show, quality still is an issue regarding fit, finish, and durability so I appeciate the information. Again there just seems to be such a delta in prices between what's out there so I was looking for some information to make a decision with.
