Had a small riding mover battery tip over in my cargo area, left a small burn hole down to the matting about the size of a quarter. Can this be repaired or do I need to replace it? Thanks in advance.

I am sure it can be repaired, But the correct thing to do would be find a replacement, Check with some of the upholstery shops and see what they say.

I used to have some condos that I rented out. Occasionally someone would move out and leave a cigarette burn in the carpet. What I'd do is take a sharp pair os scissors and take clippings of good carpet from a number of inconspicuous places. Then I'd cut out the burned fibers and put some Elmer's glue down and then the clipped fibers. Then I'd put something on it like a paint to hold it in place can and let it dry. After that I'd use a fork to brush it up to match the rest of the carpet. It fixed it most times.
Be sure that you have neutralized all of the acid too, or it will continue to deteriorate as a bigger and bigger area. For this reason, I would just replace the cargo mat and the padding. Be sure to wash the floor underneath well while you have it all out.
May be overkill, but I worked with motorcycle batteries for a lot of years. Battery acid is nasty and just doesn't give up without a fight.
