No convertables in '97. Convertables intro in '98 & FRC's intro in '99. ZO6 intro was in '01.

how do you know it is a 97? did you check the vin or are you looking at the manufacture date on the door plate? if you are looking at5 the door plate it could have been manufactured in 97 but be a 98 model

you cannot attach the pics usually they are too big in size. the best way to post a pic is host it on photobucket or something then copy the link here

then if you click on the quote button you can see how the code looks

if yours IS a 97 then more than likely it has been converted to a convertible. what is the 6th character in the vin is it a 1, 2, or 3?

yours looks good! however it has been converted. on the vin 1= Hard Top (99-04 Z06) 2 = Coupe (97-2011+ Coupe, Z06, ZR1) 3 = Convertible (98-2011+)

so you vin should start out 1g1yy22g?v5 the question mark could be anything it is just a check digit then the last 6 are the actual identification of the specific vehicle

1 nice thing though is (as long as it was done right) you will experience NO difference in handling and the conversion from what I understand really isn't that hard to do and the tops are actually just bolted on.

so ya you do have a rare vehicle being a 97 vert but unfortunately it did not come from the factory that way
