I would give anyone a ride if they wanted and if I know them well enough I would let them drive. I let my Uncle drive mine and he was hooked!! We started a search for him a vette and he bought an 07 coupe with 17K on it and he loves it!!
I've only had a couple folks ask for rides and I don't mind.
My 25 year old son is coming home next week. I know he's going to want to take his girl out in the Vette.
what about trading keys with a friend who owns a '70 454, 4spd?
'cause now i'm looking for a C3 there's a nice 76 L88 down the road from us & i've almost talked my wife into looking at it for herself
she has fun driving mine around town (especially by herself) because NOBODY expects a 15-yr-old-looking 5' 90lb asian chick to be in something like that
I have a 5 year old boy with autism who lives across the street from me...I took him for his first the other day. He had the time of his life. Seeing the smile on his face when I got into it and closing his eyes letting the wind blow through his hair makes owning the car totally worth it for me.
I had a dirty city worker jump in my car at the gas station when I was getting gas one time behind my back. In a real hickish accent I hear behind me "I aint nvr been in one of deez befer" scared me to death, and as you can guess, he did not get a ride lol. I've given plenty of rides to people who ask me for one though, of course being in college I have a lot more people asking me than most lol but I don't mind at all.
I once took a collegue to the near by Mc Donald's on our break from class...
He offered to buy, I wasn't hungry. We hit the drive through and headed back to school, he didn't even care to ask if he could eat in my car, he opened the bag and leaped right in.
He ate fry after fry...THEN... He proceeded to "dust" off the salt from his fingers on the floor mat by his feet.... LOL I was in such disbelief... I didn't say a word to him...
I would've given any rider in that situation a clear level set bfore the food was received. Matter of fact I wouldn't have let them order a drink
Our club is always asked to give rides to the candidates for queen at the annual Home Coming parade at th University of Tennessee. I aways volunteer my convertible for the event, and last year we were a bit short on cars so I asked a poker buddy (and big Alum & fan of UT) if he'd like to drive my convertible in the parade, and I'd drive my targa with the top removed in the parade. He ended up searching for a Vette to replace his Mustang and ended up buying a 50th anny vert a couple of months later.
