Im aware of stress cracks i am moving up from a c4 - c5. I found a nice looking Pewter 2002. it has stress crack drivers side fender next to bumper i have read about this but it has an odd looking 1 in the middle of the drivers door about size of a dime. It looks like the door was closed on a screwdriver and is outward, It has cracks in the paint. I have 3 questions
1 is there something inside the door that caused it
2 what are the odds of paint flaking off can i seal it somehow?
3 i will take for an estimate but can anyone give me an idea how much to repair and repaint the door? i have no clue.

I'm having a chipped door repainted and feathered into adjacent panels on one of my cars. The quotes I received were $900-1500. These are the best body guys around though and everything I've had these guys do turns out perfect. That is the only way to do it imo. Now if you can stand -/+ 5%color difference then the price can come down to $500-600. That never works for me. I want it to be like it came from the factory.
The labor rate for my area is $84 an hour.
About 5 years ago I had the same work done and it was $850. ~ 10% increase over the past 5 years. I guess that is reasonable. :-(
C5's should NOT have stress cracks. If it has cracks it because it was HIT. Old Fiberglass (matt/resin) Vettes get stress cracks, not SMC panels, even the old Vettes didn't get cracks till 20-30 years of age (depending on how much time they spent outside).
Look around at some of the recycling vendors here. A color matched replacement front fender should cost around $400,and the take about a hour to replace.
ok the pushed out crack in the door sounds like someone used wood screws to hold on door panel because clips were broken....the crack in the fender near the front bumper screams front end hit. changed front bumper but not fender. i have a fiberglass/body shop and thats where i would start looking. hope that helps
