I don't personify my car. Either call it a Z or a 'vette. Some people I know think it's odd not to have a name or at the very least refer to it as a "she". I feel quite the opposite. It's strange to give an inanimate object life-like characteristics.
I named her "Clarice". It just kind of happened organically. The day after I bought her, I had washed and waxed her. As I was removing the wax, I had some corny line from Silence of the Lambs in my head so I just told the car "I've been waiting for you, Clarice." Since I had been waiting to buy my Vette, I figured it was appropriate to just stick with Clarice. I think my next one will be a "Darcy" or something.
It's referred to as The Vette, The Corvette, Your car (when talking to my wife), her car. We have named vehicles in the past but none of our current ones have pet names.
Ours got named "Little Girl" that was what it was referred to while we were trying to find that just right name. It just kinda stuck.
Funny story...... Inappropriate as hell, but funny none the less.
I travel for my job and this is the vehicle I take with me as an alternate to drive beside a company pickup. On weekends I sometimes run onto these car show/exhibits parking lot fund raiser things. A couple of times I have been invited to pull it up in the rows and be a part of the exhibit. My car is usually clean and shiny, and it's not like I have other pressing matters, so what the hell.
My son para-phrased it in an interesting manner.
"So, you take your 13 year old "little girl" out into the middle of a parking lot, Take her top down and let strangers take pictures of her..... ??
God I love that kid.
The vette....others are, the Olds, the Cobra, The Tahoe, and the Jetta....

Named mine "Artemis" but frequently refer to her as the Vette when I'm talking to friends. Yeah, maybe it's stupid to give an inanimate object a name, but I'm attached to my car and I feel like she has a personality.
The Vette, The Truck, The Bike, The Bird, The El Cam, The Ex. do you see a pattern
Well.......most guys with an Ex have other names for her they occasionally use . Kinda the same with my Vette. I refer to her as "the Vette" at times but she will always be Vetticia to me.
