Hello all, I was cleaning the vert up this weekend (2003) and noticed something that I am sure someone here will know about. I searched the stickies first and did not find anything about this...
On both doors just inside the inside door grips (the ones you would used to pull the door shut) there appears to be something missing. On the door panel itself just inside that grip there are three holes through the door pannel that are about 3/4 inch in diameter with rough/unfinished edges. I don't beleive that when the car was put together they would have left just three unfinished looking holes like that. Is something supposed to cover those holes? I have only had the car a little over a week and still learning.
Oh, that explains it. Guess I need to get that part. Any idea of what it is called? Would be nice to have a little Corvette emblem to put over those holes.
They are readily available from many vendors including GM Partshouse, Corvette Central Mid America.
They are held on with small plastic tabs that tend to break over time. I installed a replacement set and also used a small piece of Velcro to keep them in place.
Thanks Mr. Bill, I am going to check the price at the dealership when they open this morning. As I am sure you know, the dealerships can be even more expensive than some vendors even with shipping cost. I normally give them a shot though.

The part is relatively inexpensive from the dealership. Depending on how well the parts inventory is at your dealership, they may or may not have it in stock.
Pay close attention when installing these pieces, Most get broken during installation. There is a 'right' side up and a 'wrong' side up on these pieces.
Push the bottom in first then push at the top, for best success.

Thanks, I will do that. This appears to be one of the few (at least in my opinion) not so good design features of these great cars.

They're only a few dollars at the dealership. Shipping alone from an external vendor would be about the same as what you pay at the dealership.
