Keeping value

The only single din's that even look passable to me are the ones with that custom surround that has the light up "corvette" in the blank black area around the Head unit. Even then I prefer the stock look personally.
The stock HU can be modified to do almost anything an aftermarket will do (mine has bluetooth both for phone and streeming audio and aux input for less than $50). And unless your really serious about sound I think the stocker can give decent sound with replacement speakers and adding a sub.
That being said. It's only ever that - opinion. However. I doubt having a stock radio will push off buyers where having an aftermarket may.
If you do decide to go stock be sure your system wasn't gutted to add the new system. There are 2 ways basically to add an aftermarket head unit - one is using an adapter that allows you to keep the existing bose amp and speakers, the other involves adding all new speakers wires, amps, etc. . if your system was gutted you may not be able to just "plug in" a stock HU anymore
The thing about stock is it never causes a potential Buyer to ask any questions ! My first thought if I'm looking at a Corvette or whatever, and it has a aftermarket radio/stereo in it is "I wonder where all the wiring is and was it done right ?" Like with a 1FUNC5@DoubleDModsII installed unit.
The reason is the opposite of a stock radio/stereo, he does such incredible work, no one would ever think that this might be anything amiss. It doesn't look stock, but it screams Craftsmanship. and once again nobody asked if the super professional unit woks well. They get in and for a few moments they get to see what the consummate professional, why would anyone ask ? That's just my $0.02 and that my feelings. Hay some folks don't like to run premium fuel in their Corvettes ?????????

I'd also LOVE to hear (read) more about how to add bluetooth to my stock HU!! I agree w/ several of the previous posters that the single DIN HU's look.....less than desireable. I prefer the look of the stock unit, but don't play CD's. Everything I listen to comes from my phone...music, telephone, etc.
So...how'd you add BT to your stock HU?
Thanks!
how to add bluetooth to factory C5 Bose radio

very good point
As for sound, the stock system is less than desirable..but you will have to replace all the components to correct it.

The quality of the work done by 1FUNC5@DoubleDModsII It's so seamless that no one would ever think it was something not done by a professional. But if it's a complete different system, then you have to wonder what happens if it goes bad on me ?
