2001 coupe with 52,000 miles got it around christmas. ride seems rough. this is my first vette so not sure if it should be like that or not. haven't looked at the suspension yet but i don't think with that many miles that it should need to be replaced. i am also assuming it's stock. tires BF goodrich g-force sport. someone told me it could be the tires.
anyone have any ideas?
I have an 02 that I bought a few weeks ago with 1900 miles on it. Drove it home 700+ miles on the original run flat tires. About an hour into my trip I was asking myself what I got into as the ride was so horrible.
New Hankook EVO's cured all my ride issues.
How old are the tires???
Look for 4 numbers after the DOT stamp. First 2 are the week of the year produced, second 2 are the year.
Also keep in mind it's a corvette and not a Cadillac. Definitely check the tires as they are probably the culprit. If you plan on keeping it relatively stock I recommend the Nitto Invo tires.
I replaced some very old Good Year F1 Eagles with Nitto 555's.
I don't miss the slappy road noise or the hard ride.
The new tires made a BIG difference.
Don't know if it applies in this case but I found the plastic shipping blocks in the shocks of my 03 after 27,000 miles which the prior owner or dealer never removed. Those were for the elec mag ride.
