you might just be seeing seepage
ever notice even on a new CAT once you run it for awhile there is seepage on the hydraulic hoses?
same thing here. get some simple green and a brush, clean and wash it all off. very good chance it will take awhile to come back
most common place for this is right by the PS pump where the rack and column meet

Just as an update, my steering rack was leaking pretty badly, so we replaced the whole thing. There is a noticable difference in heft and feel (both in a positive way), so I guess it was worthwhile...

We cleaned it up to check how bad the leak/weep was and I guess that made it worse. It was leaking bad enough to leave noticable drips while sitting and spray a bit while driving. I talked to a bunch of people and looked at a lot of stuff online and this (unfortunately) seems to be fairly common...even through the C6s.
