What determines whether or not a vette is a base model? If it has selective ride control and is a convertible still considered a base model? Does it have to be a Z06 to not be a base model?

It would need to be the Z51 package to be a step up from base. Nothing a few suspension mods to a base model cant make better.

The other biggie in the autos is if it has a 2.73 or 3.15 gear ratio. Im sure there are a few more things. But those are the major differences among the base models. There are no grand sport, zr1, etc C5's. Just the Z06.

The addition of any options would move it up from the base model.
Too many to list here (esp. not knowing the year in question)--selective ride, Z51, remote cd player, memory pkg, mag wheels etc are some of them.

In general, standard seats, no memory, no remote CD, no Z-51, no performance rear end, no floor mats, no HUD, no dual zone AC, no active handling.

Does anyone know if Corvette made a C5 with no options?

Well- in `02 . . .there were 14,700 coupes . . 13,700 had remote CDs, 12,100 had preferred equipment . . there other thousand might have been ordered with no options, but it seems unlikely - - somewhere during the 7 year run- I suppose it's possible, but am not aware of a site that has that specific data.

You can change the year number in the URL to see each year:

That would be my definition of the difference.
