Thanks guys for all the feedback. A lot of my friends have given me direct input as well, from my girlfriend to other corvette owners locally and the 2 body shops I am currently working with. When you run ideas by many others you seem to get more ideas, some I like and some I even find a bit humrous but in the end I am learning not only more about custom work but how to listen to others. Its good to finally see your dream, your vision along with that input from someone else transform into a reality that so many others not only shared in but they get to see the out come of their input as well. The rear fascia letters- CORVETTE are being shaved off as you can see in the photo, and the rear hatch sanded down some more and the back glass is removed so complete painting can take place, no taping here. The hood, my Hi- rise ACI vented hood will be cut this weekend and fitted for the lexiglass. The gray hood we used only as a template to see if this would flow. I wonder if there is a high temp. tint or wrap we can use to darken the lexiglass a bit so it is shaded to flow with the black paint.

West coast corvettes actually makes the glass already. Someone told me there was a vendor in Ohio that makes it as well so I am checking into that. I already have the glass. Its identical to the ZR1 glass. Putting a tint or something on it to darken it to be heat resitant will be the task. I want a shaded look to flow with the black paint but also for what ever engine cover I go with to be visble thru the tinted or shaded glass.

do you know how much the glass is?? what did you use as a template to cut your hood out?
If I remeber correct it was a little over 400.00 shipped from WCC, but I will check into it. It was cheaper in Ohio from another vendor that is why I am trying to locate that lead. The template came with the kit also, adhesive and instructions but if it does not I can make one out of paper and send it to you. It was very simple because on a c5 hood there are 2 strong support beams, one at the back near the windshield area and one in the middle of the hood. If you lay the template in between the 2 beams it will not touch the bottom beam -near windshield but it will touch the middle beam about 3/4 inch or so. This is the only spot- place you can cut and place the lexiglass. So you can not go wrong. Cutting into the beam towards the windshield will take away the strength of the hood and cause it to flex, bend.

Well first the good news- the front fascia will be done this weekend, body shop 1 says.
Body shop 2- The rear fascia has lots of hair line cracks under the primer that were not visble until they begun sanding it off. They got all the waves out of the fiberglass but now it has more issues and will not be cost effeicent to use. Layers of the fiberglass is also peeling like sheets of paper in some seams and the the seal-lip is almost so paper thin that it needs to be re done totally. There was also air pockets in the fiberglass and instead of fixing it correctly they used bondo in these spots as well. Like I said earlier because the bumper was sprayed with primer a lot of this was not visible until it was sanded. The guys at this shop recomend another fascia because it will cost me 10 more hours of labor to fix this one. I tried calling the vendor and sent him emails for the past 3 days and he is not responding. Looks like I will have to find another rear fascia ASAP.

Well finally heard from the vendor about the rear fascia. Sent him a long email with everything wrong with it and told him I had pictures to show it as well. Will wait till me and him can speak one on one because who knows he might be just a middle man and he needs to speak with his supplier as well.

Here are the pictures for this Friday July 26. The front fascia is still in the process of custom lighting. The clear side marker is in, and the double LED DRL strip is in as well. Stuck in the vented air screen piece for the fascia grill and it fits well and looks good.
The hood is coming along as well. The hole was cut in my ACI Hi rise vented slot hood. One vent does not match up so it will be cut out and moved so all 3 vents line up with the lexiglass. If you look closely at the vent you will see it has blue tape around it, thats the one we will cut out. Thanks everyone once again for the feedback. I am still enjoying this project and chances are I will be in Carisle next month looking for a rear fascia. Will keep everyone updated.
Richard
thanks for the feedback, but like I said in earlier post at lost of this is done thru the ideas and cooperation of a small group of us along with 2 other body shops. Good ideas come in numbers.

I love what you're doing and that you are being different than anyone else. I think the best part about this forum is finding unique tastes like yours. Keep up the good work.
I have two strips of LED's in my TS bumper as well and absolutely love how it looks.
That looks great! Normally I think the TS front end looks too busy with all of the holes, but those lights really help!
Heard back from the vendor of the rear fascia once I emailed him again and told him I was filing a dispute with the credit card company. I sent him the pics and explained my case again. He says all new fiberglass parts need work and I agreed with him but not htis much work 15+ hours. I also explained all the defects and sent him pictures. I also offered to set up a phone call with him and the body shop owner to dicuss this situation and he declined. Anyhow I will focus on the front fascia and hood, and etc.

I had a Very similar situation with body parts not long ago. Can you PM the vendor you purchased them through? Thanks
The wing...well I got the complete meal deal (C5R) with my low mileage '03 triple black vert. I think it is cool with the package, not on its own. Great place to put your beer too. Out and about with the car and people seem totally enthusiast with the wing!!?? Mention that one day it is a goner, no one thinks it is a good idea. (With the exception of a sales man at my GM dealership) My GF is a service writer at said dealership and once said that is what attracted her to my car and eventually to me...lol. So that wing has some great history with me. "FAN OF DA WING", Rob
You have some major skills in the fiberglass department. Looks great.
If you ever get tired of that front end I will pay big $ for it and swap you my tigershark front in the process.
Thanks for the feedback. Actually because I have received a few replies about the tiger shark front end that is not complete we might make a few special orders but lets wait and see the out come of this project and see if everyone still feels the same.
Richard
Below are the hood pictures. The seam was filled in that goes down the middle and re glassed. The rear vents on both sides were cut out , removed and placed forward so that all 3 vents line up on the hood with the lexiglass. This will make it look like the glass and vents were designed as one concept and keep the flow. Was a little extra work and not planned but in the long run well worth it.
The front tiger shark zo6 with DRL LED Switch backs fascia should be complete next week,
The rear fascia..well still waiting on reply from vendor.
