Nope.. You win.
There is room for them to fit, just not enough wiggle room to get them in there. But I'm not sure if other bags would make difference. I have a rather roomy cart bag.

Vert is the best. You may not go topless all the time, but the times you do, you know you made the right choice.

After golf last week, I pulled up next to a 2008 Z06 in the parking lot waiting for my wife. The guy that owned the Z06 and I got to talking. He said he missed his vert and wished he had it back (white C5 vert). I said, yeah, but you got the horsepower. He said, yeah maybe, but I still miss my vert. I should have hit him up for a trade right then. But I would miss my vert too.

I get two cart golf bags and more in trunk with top down, and it is a tight fit. With smaller bags, I know I could take a 2-3 day golf trip's worth of clothes too. Top up, no problem with having more. He had his trunk open, and although he had more room than me, he had more junk too.

As far as looks go; I think the C5 vert roof-line (top up) looks better than the C5 Z06 roof anytime. Top down, it looks great. Many times I'm hot and miserable (blk on blk), but there are just too many good times with the top down you just can't get any other way. Topless is good.

Really???
I had a hell of a time... I thought I was going tear the hell out of the trunk opening. I know there is room. Just didn't feel like tearing my car up. Stuck 'em in the passenger seat, then had to answer the almighty questions of..."Playing a little golf today?"

Have tutorial on this subject just like changing brakes or sway bar ends?? Make it a sticky??

Got to say .... The Roadster !

Course , neither one is a DD, Still if I HAD to choose I am a Vert Vette Man.

Remember, Corvette began as Harley Earl's dream of building an "American Sports Car". Our ol 'Plastic Fantastic' began as a Roadster And remained so it's first 10 ten yrs of existance.

I had a vert when DW and I first married (not a Vette). I really enjoyed driving around with the top down till it snowed. DW said having it down destroyed her hair style so started me down the road to "hardtopism." I like the verts a lot but I've been told the wind still blows inside and if that's true rain can get in too. I leave it to you Vette vert owners to inform me if this is true or not.

Ain't it great that we have options!
I love my Coupe for many. Of the reason above!
If I wanted a convertible, I would have bought one........

Vert for me. It will do anything I want to do that a coupe will do....and more.
A lot of people don't think a Vert looks good with the top up.....I have to disagree where C5s are concerned. I think it looks just as good top up or down.

I live in sunny Northern California with great weather at least 9 months out the year, so basically it's a must to have a convertible Corvette for me...if you live in Cali you got to love the sun! Actually when I was looking for my Vette I never even considered a coupe at all.

Coupe, the lines flow so much better, and you get the "WOW" factor with the top off.

I didn't know about Z's when I bought my car 6+ years ago, so I went with the coupe. If I could do it again, I would go Z; less moving parts to thinker with.

I've own two other convertibles, 500SL, SC430 Lexus. The C5 convertible we just bought is the only one the wife enjoys riding with the top down. Less wind and less noise. I did not expect that.

To each their own - ya think maybe that's why GM makes 'em both? Kinda like maybe why they make 'em in blue, red, yellow, silver, etc ?

Personally, I'm a coupe guy. I like more space for luggage for trips with SWMBO, the rear window slope, the ability to have the top open but then have a hardtop in about 30 seconds if need be, etc.

Now if I lived somewhere that the weather was warm all year I may have a different opinion, but I doubt it. I just like the lines. The Z06 route wasn't even a consideration for me. The coupe has enough get up and go for me. I don't race 'em, just like to drive 'em.

I've got one of each.
They each have certain advantages.
I drive the white Coupe almost daily for a couple of reasons.
1. it's white and doesn't show the dirt like the black Convertible.
2. It's always got the golf clubs under the hatch.

The black one is what I drive to cruise ins and week end shows.

I've always had a thing for coupes, ever since the '63 came out when I was 8 years old. I thought the hidden headlights, and fastback roof were just the most awesome thing I had ever seen. I have owned several verts, none of which were Corvettes, and they are nice when the weather is right, but a Corvette coupe is still my weekend ride of choice.

I can fit two cart bags head to toe in the trunk of my convertible. However, I need to remove my trunk partition in order to have enough room. I have plenty of room if it's just one bag.

They can I've done it and not small carry bags either. The larger "I'm old fat and lazy and I'm taking a cart screw what my doctor said about exercise" bags! Love my vert. Red with a white top which is the first color combo I can ever remember seeing on a corvette ('66 roadster)

I have a non-corvette convertible and love it. I also love my FRC C5Z on a sunny day. Really can't go wrong with either but the best case scenario is having one of each
