I have to go with the convertible. Love both types, but really like the option of being able to have the top all the way down. I also think it looks good with the top up, but to each their own.

Also found out this weekend while doing some work (climate control fix), that it is a lot easier to work in the car with the top down in the garage.

Another convertible vote from me. In northern Illinois, we have summer (eventually) weather, without the constant 100+ degree days that you Arizona, Texas and Florida owners get. The car is pretty much my daily driver in the non-winter seasons, so I want the best of both worlds. Since our longer trips are on interstates with the top up, the trunk is more than adequate.

If "All Corvettes Are Red", then all sports cars are convertibles!
Mine is a weekend cruiser and I wouldn't consider not having Max Headroom along for the ride. Call me claustrophobic, but I can't see being "couped up" when you're out for a pleasure drive.

You guys who think that a coupe with the roof off is as good as a convertible, then you're certainly missing a lot. And, FWIW, the convertible has more storage space than a coupe when both tops are stowed.

We chose the coupe because of the lexan top. It lets light in on those days when the vert would be dark.

Truth be told I would love to have one of each!

We love our convertible. Beautiful, cruising weather is always top down. Skies threaten or the weather changes along the way and the top goes back up in about 15 seconds. Evening rides with the top down in cloudless, low humidity conditions are priceless.

it Obviously depend on where you live (unless its a Sunday Driver). but for me, it is my daily driver, and My hardtop was the right choice. I personally think it looks better with the top on or off. And that "fastback" glass is just gorgeous. The vert Looks great when the top is down, but Ill choose my coupe any day.

My dad thinks otherwise and he got the Vert. but we are both more than happy with our choices. We even Wave to each other! http://instagram.com/p/L_XVUPtvoF/

I prefer the coupe-- just like being a little more enclosed . . have had several 2 seat convertibles- Corvettes and MB SLs, and just didn't enjoy the top down feeling . . interior is quieter, even with the coupe roof off.

You know how sometimes you want something (like a vert) and then you get it & find it's not really what you imgined it to be? I never had that issue with a vert!

Love the looks of the vert but for my driving I prefer a roof. FRC was the only choice for me.

I must admit, it feels strange driving my vert with the top up. Driving the coupe with the top in place doesn't feel strange at all. In fact, the only time I remove my coupe's top is for a parade when both car are in it. Either my wife or a buddy drive whichever one I don't drive in the parade. In fact last year we did a homecoming parade and the guy that drove my vert went out and bought a 50th Anny. version shortly after.

since my wife has a 2000 coupe and a 2004 vert i can say definitely a coupe . coupe is much quieter [ in our case at least , we are working to quiet the vert ] . i am to introverted to drive with top down . my wife likes driving the vert with top down , i've never been in it without top up . yes , the coupe .

That's another reason I don't prefer a vert, it feels like you're riding with the world. I prefer a bike if that's what I want to do.

I don't like the rest of the world

Coupe beats Convertible in every conceivable way. It's lighter, more rigid, more resistant to the elements, better looking, more aerodynamic, and CHEAPER. Oh, and if you want the wind in your hair all you have to do is throw the targa top in the trunk. No contest IMHO

I dont think the coupe is lighter than the Vert. They received the same chassis, which is rare for most models.

I am I fan of the coupe. Just think it looks better hands down. With and without the targa top in place. Plus its better for auto sports.

You give the rest of us old guys hope!

My vote for a convertible--just the vehicle to have driving on two lane roads in the Rocky Mountains and Colorado in the spring, summer, and fall!

Torch Red and topless-perfect combination for sunny single digit humidity days-- and especially evenings .And less rattles in a convertible!

Coupe

It is more aerodynamic "faster" , quiet, and if you want, you can remove the top and now you are a convertible. Plus when you get older you try to keep out of the sun because of skin cancer.

Packing instructions for two cart golf bags in one topless vert. *****, shoes, 12 pack, extra shorts, tees too.

1) Put top down. Place shoes, *****, extra shorts, between seats and top.

2) First bag in, pull long clubs/woods. Then install bag (length-wise) to width of trunk. Place bag all the way against the top down in trunk. Move/wiggle as needed to fit. For me, OGIO cart bag.

3) Add second bag (length-wise) with all clubs, wiggle as needed. Shift all the way to one side. For wife, Bag Boy cart bag. Add long clubs from first bag, between the two bags. Add 12 pack in space on one side second bag. Grab one for drive.

4) Verify straps do not block latch. Add hats, tees, extra *****, a shoe here, a shoe there. Close trunk.

Make tee time, on time.

I had a C5 coupe for a year, then decided I wanted a convertible, good choice for me, even in the Pacific NW. I always felt that with the roof section out in the coupe that I was getting all of the noise, and wind and 1/3 of the view. Plus they look good, top down or up. So many cars have a convertible model that just looks like an afterthought, either top or top down, often both with a hideous tonneau covering a mass of cloth and metal that just won't disappear like it should. VW New Beetle for example
